Our small group phonics lessons have been absolutely brilliant this week! With focused teaching and lots of fun, the children have been making fantastic progress in their reading and writing skills. Working in smaller groups means every child gets the chance to shinewhether it's blending sounds, spotting tricky words or building confidence with early reading. The enthusiasm and engagement have been a joy to see!
This week, our Year 1 children have been enjoying the heartwarming book "This Is Our House" by Michael Rosen. Through the story of George and his cardboard house, the children have been learning important lessons about kindness, inclusion and the joy of sharing with others.
Our Year 5 pupils have been diving into their trombone lessonsand what a brilliant start it's been! The hall was buzzing with excitement as the children got hands-on with the instruments, learning how to produce their first notes and getting a real feel for the trombone. Mr Taber from the Suffolk County Music Service, who's leading the sessions, shared how impressed he is with the group's enthusiasm and progress. "They're picking it up incredibly quickly," he said. We can't wait to hear the sounds they'll be making in the weeks to come. Bravo, Year 5!

Our afterschool choir club has been full of energy and harmony this week! The children have been busy learning new songs, exploring different styles and building their confidence with every note. It's been a joy to hear their voices filling the space with music and enthusiasm.
Another successful Family Friday last week for our Year 5 children, who had the joy of inviting their parents/carers to join them for lunch. Laughter echoed through the hall, delicious food was enjoyed and smiles were seen all around
Reception are having a brilliant time todaypractising their pencil skills and exploring colours in all sorts of fun ways. Children enjoyed sorting objects into colour groups and took great pride in beginning to write their names. It's lovely to see their confidence growing already as they settle into their learning journey.
Year 5 are diving into their first trombone lesson of the year this morning! Today was all about big brass energy as pupils met their music teacher, got hands-on with their instruments and began exploring the sounds they'll be mastering this term. It's the start of an exciting musical journey that promises plenty of proud moments ahead. We can't wait to see their skills grow!
